ACADEMIC WRITING
This programme is for university, college, high-school, and self-study learners who want to develop their writing skills in English language. That includes writing a paragraph, an essay, an assignment, a reflection, a proposal, etc.
The academic writing skills will enable them to succeed in their study at school, their self-study, their work, and their applications for further education and scholarships.
- Express ideas clearly, logically, and coherently.
- Develop proficiency in grammar, punctuation, syntax, and academic vocabulary.
- Understand the expectations of academic audiences and write with purpose and clarity for that audience.
- Analyze, evaluate, and synthesise information from multiple sources.
- Ensuring the writing is well-organised and easy to follow.
- Construct and defend arguments based on evidence and reasoning.
- Understand and apply the principles of academic integrity, avoiding plagiarism and giving proper credit to others’ ideas.
- Master the conventions and formats of academic writing, including citations, references, and structure.
- Develop the ability to revise and improve their writing based on feedback and self-assessment.

- In English, or English and Vietnamese
- A course:
- 45 hours in class
- and 45 hours outside class for practicing writing and receiving feedback from teacher
- 15 weeks in total
- A week:
- 3 hours per week for class time
- 3 hours per week for practicing writing and getting teacher’s feedback
- (or other plans that suit learner’s schedule)
- A programme:
- the number of courses needed depends on learner’s English level and learning goals.
- Tuition fee for a small-size class:
- a course: 15,000,000 VND
- a month: 4,000,000 VND approximately
The programme’s instructor has gained a PhD degree in linguistics and education from New Zealand; a Masters degree and a BA degree in language teaching from Vietnam; and 18-year experience in teaching and training in universities and colleges in both New Zealand and Vietnam.
