LUCY NGUYEN
My name’s Lucy Nguyen.
I graduated from the Faculty of English Linguistics and Literature, the University of Social Sciences and Humanity, Ho Chi Minh City. I am interested in working in international environments and doing jobs related to English language.
At the moment, I am working full time in the role of Footwear Developer for an American corporation and part time in the role of English Teacher for Live Like Trees. I am proud that by working in those roles, I am making some contribution to the development of our society.
Apart from work, I love travel, reading and hanging out with my friends. Walking is also an activity that I enjoy very much. While taking a walk, especially in the nature, I feel relaxed and free like a child. That helps me to relieve stress and get back my inner balance.
Although I am over 30 years old already, I am always eager to explore new places and new things. For me, self-improvement is one of the main purposes of my life. In my opinion, mistakes are not something shameful and making mistakes show that we are learning and becoming better. I have learnt from my mistakes and grown more mature, little by little.
Regarding Live Like Trees, I knew about this group by chance and had no idea about what they were doing. However, after collaborating with them for a while, I have developed a genuine love for this community. I have come to know more about the LLT members who I find very kind, polite and always willing to help others without expecting anything in return. Knowing them and seeing the good things they are doing for the community, inside me I feel a growing desire to be a kind person too.
Dear “Live like trees”! I hope you will continue to be yourself, grow up day by day, quietly add values to the world and collectively make this Earth a worth-living place, as the trees surrounding us are doing. I think that will be a meaningful message for every one of us.
I hope to continue to contribute my part to this community and to spreading our love and meaningful messages to more people.
